The "Duck" Dance

Tonight as we were eating dinner, Amara suddenly made wings and started flapping. She called attention to it by informing me, "Look, I flap wings."

Taking her cue, I decided it was a perfect opportunity to teach her the Chicken Dance. Over cheeseburgers. In the middle of dinner. Jon had left for his softball game, or the dreaded Chicken Dance would have never happened!

There we were, flapping our wings, shaking our tail feathers, opening and closing our beaks, clapping our hands. Dominic was getting into it, too -- he is a very proficient clapper.

Amara hopped off her chair to "shake tail feathers." No matter how many times I told her otherwise though, she was convinced we were doing "The Duck Dance."

Maybe Jon will prefer this version.
