We had our neighborhood Easter Egg hunt yesterday afternoon. They started the 0-4 year olds early, so they could get the "obvious" eggs. Amara happened to be in that group. Each kid was allowed 10 eggs, and that was it, so it was guaranteed to be fair. They said "Go!" and Amara was off. She didn't even know yet what was IN the eggs, only that her goal was to pick them up and put them in her "to-to-free" (trick or treat) bag.
It's painfully obvious that she has the blood of 2 competitors in her. The poor kids didn't know what hit them.
Two little boys were slowly bending down to pick up a couple eggs that were at their feet. Amara charged in and grabbed them before they could even bend down.
We called her away to the other side, where there were no kids. She eyed some more eggs and trampled the daffodils on her way to them. Of course, the eggs she was eyeing were being picked by another little girl. Nope... Amara charged in again and grabbed them.
Part of us was cheering her on -- our little go-getter! The other part of us was mortified -- we've got a 2 year old bully! OK, maybe not quite that extreme. But lets just say we were glad she hit 10 quickly and she obeyed us when we told her she was finished!
