Super Fast

This morning we were getting ready for work and day care. Dominic was completely dressed, but Jon and I were still in the bathroom getting ready. Dominic was not quite awake however, and was whining for his blanket.

Because we were already running late, Jon told Dominic to go get his blanket. Dominic refused. We knew the reason is because all the lights were off in the hallway and in his room, so he was scared of monsters. Jon said, "If you run super-fast, the monsters won't be able to catch you."

Dominic said, "No Daddy, I don't have my super-fast shoes on today."

(That's funny in and of itself... but here's the rest of the story. Dominic has two pairs of tennis shoes. His navy and red ones are his "old" ones. His black ones are his "new" ones. When we were in the store, Jon tried them on Dominic and told him to run. He then confirmed that he was "super-fast." So the black shoes are his "super-fast shoes." Guess which shoes he had on this morning.... yep.... his navy shoes!)
