We got Jon a Wii for Father's Day. Last night we all went down to the basement to play some baseball together on it. Actually, Dominic wanted to play baseball, Amara wanted to box.
We started with Baseball. Dominic was pitching, I was hitting. He was pitching well. Struck me right out! What was funny though was his reaction. Following every single pitch, he laughed like a maniac. And with each pitch, Amara said, "Alright, Dommick, give me five!" They'd slap five, he'd pitch again.
Then he got to swing. Now that's interesting -- he's really got no timing at all -- it's just a continual set of swings. So as the pitcher, I have to try to time my pitch to land at the time his swing is going to go. Jon tried to help him, but the more you try to help, the harder he swings it out of your hand. In one case, he swung so hard away from Jon that he actually hit a home run! As with pitching, every hit was followed by that crazy laugh, cheering, and Amara's request for a five.
When the game was over, the cheesy Wii music came on, and the D-man did a little dance. Head bopping, arms swinging. Very funny.
