I wonder how many posts will have "Sibling Rivalry" as their title. Sometimes I just have to sit back and laugh, because it's so ridiculous the things that get under their skin.
Amara always takes her socks and shoes off when she gets home. Today they ended up on the edge of the kitchen table. Amara was eating her dinner. Dominic was done with his and was crawling around the kitchen.
Soon, we saw a little head and hand pop over the edge of the table. Dominic snagged a sock. Then another.
Amara was up in arms. She bolted from her chair crying out, "Mommy, Dommick's got my sock!" Never mind that she had them off for over an hour and had no desire for them... until Dominic grabbed them.
She went around the table and collected her socks and shoes. Then she tried to get to me, but Dominic was blocking her path. Instead, she ran around the kitchen island as fast as she could. She was saying to me, "Hurry Mommy, I have to hurry before Dommick gets there." She wanted me to put her socks and shoes back on so he couldn't get them.
Besides watching her flip out, the funny thing about all of this was that Dominic forgot all about the shoes and socks when she grabbed them -- he moved onto something else without a second thought.
Oy!
