Last night we were out drawing in the sidewalk with chalk. Our neighbors came out on their way to dinner and stopped to talk to us. Amara couldn't see him, but could hear him, and knew she wanted in on the action.
She got up from her drawing and started to run over. Halfway there, she stopped short, turned around and ran back. As she did, she was calling out, "Come on, Baby Elephant, let's go talk." She had to bring her elephant in on the conversation.
Of course, elephant in hand, she sidled up to Jon and made sure to get the "you're cute" comment from the neighbors. She can certainly work it to get the compliment!
