At Great Grandma & Grandpa's house, Amara fell in love with a bear "statue" that stood guard over the toy box. She had many conversations with this bear and adorned it with Daddy's watch and a green lei.
When it was time to leave, I told her to go say Good-Bye to the bear. I never expected to laugh so hard.
She walked up to it, squatted down, put her arm around his neck, and kissed its nose. Then she said, while patting it, "Bye-bye bear. I be back soon. I promise. Don't worry. Don't cry. I be back. You're the best bear in the whole world."
She just kept repeating it over and over in a little whisper, all the while patting it and kissing it.
