Grandma Sunshine

My maiden name has always been very hard for people unfamiliar with it to pronounce. I realized the other day that Amara probably didn't know it, but that it would be a good idea to introduce the Grandparent's last names so that it's easier to distinguish between the sets.

Knowing that she'd stumble on it a bit, I pronounced it very carefully for her. She frowned back at me and said, "No. She's just Grandma." I assured her that of course she's Grandma, but that she has a name, too -- just like her name is Amara, and my name is Sarah.

So I told her Grandma's full name.

Amara again frowned... "No... I don't want her to be Grandma Sunshine."

And that is how my Mom became known as "Grandma Sunshine!"
