Weekend Antics

We had fun this weekend, here's a run down of the more memorable moments:

Dominic:

- Dominic said "Thank You" unprompted this morning when I gave him some goldfish!

- We went out for Chinese Sunday night, and he was a total flirt with the waitress. As she walked by, he turned and pawed at her to get her attention. Then as she was cleaning the table behind us, he would call for her, then turn away giggling when she looked. Huge grin on his face the whole time.

- He's started to play "tag" with Amara. He'll run around and around and around the kitchen island thinking she's chasing him. And he'll be screaming at the top of his lungs!

- Every time he bumps his head on something, he'll grab his head and say "bup." This morning, he was intentionally bonking heads with us, just so he could laugh, grab his head, and say "bup!"

- Shoot, I grabbed a picture that didn't show the front of Dominic's shirt. It has a monkey on it and it says "Crazy." It's our current favorite shirt of his, because it describes him perfectly: he's a crazy monkey!

- The pumpkin patch we went to had an animal farm area. The cow was the hit of the day. I've never heard Dominic yell so loud. Of course, what he was yelling was "Moo!!!"

- At the pumpkin patch, which pumpkin does Dominic go after? The biggest one, of course. I thought he'd get a hernia trying so hard to lift it! He was grunting with his tongue out as he tried (unsuccessfully) to lift it. He's surprisingly strong, but thankfully not THAT strong yet.

Amara:

- Saturday we had a babysitter come over so we could go to dinner and a movie. In the morning, I prepped Amara by saying, "Heather's going to come play with you tonight. All day, Amara begged to go get Heather, but she could never remember her name. She kept asking, "Mom, what's her name again?" She probably asked me that question 10 times. Even when Heather came, she asked again. Then she told Jon, "Daddy, dis my friend Header. She come to play with me." As she introduced Heather (who of course, Jon already knows), she held out her appropriate Vanna White hand.

- On the way to the pumpkin patch, Amara had to bring the 2 dinosaurs she got at the Dentist a couple weeks ago (no idea how she hasn't yet lost them). As we were driving, Amara had a mock conversation between the two of them: (1) You want to go on a hayride? (2) Yes! (1) Good! (2) You want to go on a hayride? (1) Yes! (2) Good!

- Amara absolutely couldn't get enough of the cows at the pumpkin patch. We had to keep going back to it, because it was her favorite. Their names were Donald, Huey, Duey, and Luey.

- At the pumpkin patch, they did a little puppet show. At the end, they had all the kids get on stage and sing "Old Man Burger Had a Farm." Amara happily joined the other kids on stage, stood dead center with her hands stuffed down in her pockets -- and faced the kids ON stage... in other words, she had her tail to the crowd!
