Everyone talks about car rides putting their kids instantly to sleep. Not Amara and Dominic. They fight it til the end in the car.
Today we took a 9.5 hour ride, leaving at about their nap time. Amara fell asleep at around 4:30 for a short nap. Dominic fell asleep at about 9:30, completely skipping his nap.
As she sat in the back complaining that she wanted to get out, Amara said, "But I don't.want to sleep on my bottom!"

My kids are like that, too! Cameron will sleep anywhere and everywhere, but Ani and Fritz stay awake most of the time in the car. Adrian sometimes sleeps and sometimes doesn't, but he's only 9 months old. When he was 2 months old the ped said he should start really liking the car and be lulled to sleep by it. I asked if that was a promise. Kid screamed every time we got in the car until he was 6 months old and still does sometimes.
